Should I still get an A/C Tuneup in Memphis if summer is almost over?

Have you neglected your regular AC Tune-Up or maintenance? It’s not too late for AC Tune-Up. Unless your AC unit is inoperable completely, it’s never too late to get started with regular maintenance for your air conditioner. Regular maintenance is critical to make sure your unit runs smoothly, efficiently and saves you the most money on your monthly bill.

Ideally, it is recommended that AC Tune-Ups are done in the spring, before the hottest months of summer approach. This is done in preparation for the busiest season of the year. However, this doesn’t mean that it can’t be done at any point during the year. Springtime is great because an AC Tune-Up requires temporarily shutting off the air, which is generally easier to do on a day that is not brutally hot.

Are you thinking that since it’s already August, it may be too late in the season for a tune-up? Think again! It is never too late in the summer season for an AC tune-up — especially under the blazing Nashville sun. It will save you the hassle of having a potentially broken-down unit in the hottest of the year.

Why are AC Tune-Ups and regular Maintenance so Important?

It might be a hassle or something that doesn’t come to the top of your priority list. As a homeowner, we understand there are many ongoing tasks that can fall through the cracks. However, there are many reasons why regular maintenance for your air conditioner is so important. Remember, regular AC Tune-Ups can prolong the life of your unit and save you money in the long run.

Longer Lifespan

When a homeowner schedules their yearly AC Tune-Ups, this allows for maintenance technicians to address any concerns before they become larger or more expensive problems. Annual checkups for your unit will reduce the impact of regular wear and tear and allow your system to function properly for many years to come. Replacing an AC unit can be costly and daunting, so it’s always better to take care of your existing unit for as long as possible.

Less Costly

Small repairs or concerns found during annual AC Tune-ups will cost you less in the long run. Without regular Tune-Ups, more severe problems can occur over the course of several years, which can end up with a big expense. This can also pose a problem if you were to go sell your home!

Energy Efficiency

Newer AC units are designed to run efficiently and utilize as little energy as possible. Each year that goes by without regular AC Tune-ups, your air conditioner unit will lose a percentage of its efficiency, which will ultimately mean it has to work harder to cool your home in the hottest of weather and will increase your monthly energy bills.

Not just for Summer

Perhaps you only are considering the brutal summer heat. Of course, while summer is the hottest season, early fall and spring can bring higher temperatures as well. Priming your AC unit for use will ensure that whenever you need to use it, it is ready to operate and run at its best.
